There is a myth that a salesperson should always be able to find common ground with everyone, handle objections, agree, and leave a pleasant impression after every interaction. There are also people who enjoy making faces at the guards by the Eternal Flame and then telling those guards that they should stand still and not react to distractions.
There are also porn actors, and that doesn’t mean they will accept your offer to have sex just because they star in specific films. Similarly, a musician won’t entertain you with a violin performance just because they can do it and you want to hear it right now.
What am I getting at? Sellers can also tell people to shove it. No, I definitely won’t be telling anyone to shove it right now. God forbid. I never tell anyone to shove it online. Telling someone to shove it is just not polite. I’m simply saying that any normal person, including a seller, can tell anyone to shove it. Especially when it comes to a fake troll buyer who comes to the store not for a washing machine, but to boost their ego. It’s better to tell them to shove it for the benefit of real customers.
And interestingly, such a dismissal will be exactly what a salesperson knows how to do—satisfy the client’s needs. After all, the troll is waiting to be dismissed so that they can point out the seller’s supposed unprofessionalism, even if the interaction between the troll and the seller doesn’t involve any actual sale. The troll just wants to be convinced of something (like playing a tune on a violin, right?).
“If the troll is waiting to be sent away, then that’s what he gets: ‘Go to hell! Thank you, next!’”
